|CHARITIES WE SUPPORT
In accordance with the mission set forth by St. Paul in 2 Corinthians 9:6-9, Christ Church dedicates a portion (10 percent) of our total income to supporting the particular and material needs of the Church and the city and the world. The charities we have supported include:
|Die Gruft (Vienna)
Die Gruft manages centres for the homeless run by Caritas.
VinziRast provides food and shelter for the homeless and help with reintegration.
|‘s Häferl (Vienna)
‘s Häferl is a soup kitchen run by Diakonie in Vienna. A group of volunteers from Christ Church spend one Saturday every two months preparing and serving the midday meal for about 250 people. Christ Church also covers the costs of this meal.
|Möwe Child Protection Centres (Vienna, St.Pölten, Neunkirchen, Mistelbach and Mödling)
Möwe Child Protection Centres provide at risk children places to stay that are safe from physical and sexual abuse.
|Gesprengte Ketten (Hirtenberg)
Gesprengte Ketten holds Alpha and bible courses in Hirtenberg and other Austrian prisons and also runs prayer groups.
|Austrian Bible Society (Vienna)
The Austrian Bible Society promotes the printing and distribution of Bible throughout Austria.
|Co-ordinating Committee for Christian-Jewish Cooperation (Vienna)
The Co-ordinating Committee for Christian-Jewish Cooperation provides forums for Christian-Jewish discussion and collaboration in Austria.
|Mobile Hospice (Vienna)
Mobile Hospice is run by CS Hospice Rennweg and provides care to those in need of hospice care.
Christ Church supports Diakonie for the refugee programme in Austria.
|March for Jesus (Vienna)
A group from Christ Church attended the rally and supported the event in 2016.
|Rachel’s Vineyard (Vienna)
Rachel’s Vineyard organises retreats for healing the pain of abortion.
|Zacharias Institute Vienna/RZIM Zacharias Trust (Vienna)
Based in Vienna, the Rev'd Christian Hofreiter speaks on various topics to University groups, the business community and the Church in Austria with the aim of advancing the Christian faith.
|Everyone’s Child (Romania)
Everyone’s Child is a charity run by Paul Davies (UK) helping children with HIV/AIDS in their family environment.
Cosmas is an Austrian charity, founded by doctors at the Wilhelminenspital (President: Dr. Hans Kohlmann). Cosmas provides bilateral assistance in accident surgery (with emphasis on training) from the Wilhelminenspital to the Hospital Agostinho Neto in Praia, Capeverde.
|Syrian Orthodox School Mar Ephraim (Bethlehem)
This Syrian Orthodox Christian School is supported by the Diocese of Coventry (UK). The Diocese raised funds to build the school (opened in 2006) and continues to support it financially. There are more than 500 students enrolled at the school.
|Diocese in Europe: Ordination Fund (Europe)
The Diocese in Europe Ordination Fund covers costs of training ordinands for the Church of England.
|Diocese in Europe: Bishop’s Advent Appeal
Each year, Christ Church helps provide assistance to the Bishop's designated initiative. In 2016, the assistance went to developing facilities for St John’s Casablanca.
|Equipo Impacto (Cuba)
Equipo Impacto is an organization dedicated to training clergy and laity in bible teaching. It is administered by Crosslinks (UK).
